How Plots of Love came to life
During the year of 1999-2003 I can remember being with my grandmother once a week. I would visit my grandmother in her retirement center where I would drive her and her friends to the cemetery where her family was buried. When going to the cemetery I would always look at the different flowers on the grave and I would always see so many graves without any flowers on them.
When my grandmother would take the old flowers off of our family members grave to put the new ones on I would look for an empty grave somewhere nearby to place these flowers on as a sign of respect, it always made me feel good.
Most of the time when I would see these empty plots I would sometimes think how could someone let their loved ones go unremembered, till I became older and realized how hard it now was to make time for other things than work and taking care of a family.
In the years that followed we had a few more deaths in our family. It got harder for my grandmother as she got older and weaker to make frequent visits to the cemetery. My mom would always try to take my grandmother for the major holidays and events but it was so tough for everyone's schedules to become open.
Sadly, my grandmother at the age of 102 passed away a few days after her birthday. When we were at the cemetery for my grandmother’s wake I found myself revisiting those empty sites as I did with my grandmother in my younger years. I then realized how important it was for me to start this service if not for me but for my grandmother and the empty vases and graves that you see far too often.
My family and I now run this business full time and we hope to pass it
down through many generations. We are a fully green and certified company and we are very proud of the business we have started from scratch, we love seeing the faces and emails we get when the a client of ours sees the before and after views of their loved ones grave site.
